NHS Estates manages all the physical assets of the NHS including
its buildings. It has the responsibility for design and building
of new hospitals.
New hospitals have to be built to very exacting standards and
each section has to comply with a multitude of regulations.
In the past, the job of checking whether a building design
complied with standards needed a significant amount of an expensive
expert consultant's time.
Interragate used Exapia and the Intelligent Guidance Module to
implement an interactive compliance checker which pro-actively
asks questions about every relevant section of a new building
design and reports on any lapses in compliance, with advice on
how to correct them.
